A goldsmith escaped with injuries in an attempted robbery earlier this morning at a traffic light in Jalan Makmur, Pandan Indah. Ampang Jaya Chief Amiruddin Jamaluddin said two men who rode a blue Yamaha motorbike approached the goldsmith’s Toyota Camry at around 8.45 this morning, fired three shots towards Wong Foo Yui hitting him in the shoulder. They later fled the scene.
Wong, 34, drove in an injured state to Pandan Indah Police Station to get help. The police chief said that Wong is in stable condition.
This has been the fifth incident involving firearms in Malaysia. Just last Monday, Ambank Berhad founder Hussain Ahmad Najadi was murdered in broad daylight just metres away from the Kuan Yin Temple carpark in Lorong Ceylon.
