Bond fans out there, good news! Sam Mendes and Sony has confirmed that production for the upcoming 007 flick is due for release in November 2015. Daniel Craig will play MI6 topdog James Bond once again. The currently untitled feature has been given the name “Bond24″ for the time being.
Although Mendes had said that he was ‘finished’ with the franchise back in March (during Skyfall), his return puts an end to that speculation.”It has been a very difficult decision not to accept [producers] Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli’s very generous offer to direct the next Bond movie,” Mendes said in an interview. “Directing ‘Skyfall’ was one of the best experiences of my professional life, but I have theatre and other commitments, including productions of ‘Charlie And The Chocolate Factory’ and ‘King Lear,’ that need my complete focus over the next year and beyond.”
Much later, at a press conference accompanying the announcement, Mendes said ”I very much look forward to taking up the reins again, and to working with Daniel Craig, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli for a second time.”
